The Award has an impact on the development of young people, cultivating important life skills, strengthening their self-confidence and positive attitude towards life.

We believe that along the way, adults in the role of mentors and leaders hand-in-hand with the young people, significantly improve their soft skills.

With this belief in mind, we have developed collaborative models with business organizations where you simultaneously invest in the development of young people and your employees. By choosing one of the options below, you will receive a package of services that increase the motivation and responsibility levels of your staff and position yourself as a socially responsible company.

Methodology

Apply the Award methodology in your company to develop your employees and your local community, and mentor young people in it. You can upgrade your employee benefits package by providing inclusion in our globally recognised non-formal education programme for the children of your employees.

Training

Your colleagues will receive special training in mentoring skills and will then be able to apply what they have learned as mentors to the young people participating in the Award.

Internship

You can use the Award methodology as a stand-alone internship program or as a complement to your existing one.

Schools

You can become a patron of a school of your choice and its participants in the Award. Your support will enable students to get involved in the Award programme and teachers to gain an additional tool to connect with young people.

Be an official guest at the award ceremony

Each year, participants receive their internationally recognised certificate and badge at a special ceremony. As our corporate partner, you will have the opportunity to experience the excitement and pride of young people and celebrate their success with them. The award ceremony will be attended by the President as the patron of the initiative in Bulgaria, as well as H.E. Amb. Ambassador of Great Britain.

Why support us?

The Duke of Edinburgh International Award – Bulgaria (“The Award” for short) is a non-formal education program that develops universal skills for a fulfilling life, career and social contribution. Within it, young people aged 14 to 24 set goals related to their personal interests in various areas and are supported by inspiring mentors. Since 2014 we have been cooperating with over 60 schools, municipalities and non-governmental organizations in Bulgaria. During these years, the Award has reached thousands of young people, and there are already hundreds of Award holders.

Research results

We have an abundance of feedback from participants and Award holders who share how the programme has helped them increase their confidence, become more resilient and adaptable, and in some cases change their lives. Respondents talk about their personal growth. The Award has taught them commitment, changed their perspective, made them more well-rounded, confident, resilient, responsible, and independent.
